July 2018 – Championship honours at Great Yorkshire Show

Taking top honours at the Great Yorkshire Show for the flock was one-crop ewe HBR1600780. This ewe was bred by Richard Henderson and bought from the Northern Stars last year.

Sired by Duncryne Ubercool she is was previously first in her class at the Royal Highland Show.

On the second day of the show this ewe went on to be reserve champion in the terminal sire breeds section of the interbreed championship as well as being one half of the victorious interbreed pairs champions alongside Richard Wilson’s shearling ram.

Adding to the success was homebred ram lamb Procters Bobby Dazzler, a son of Milnbank American Sniper, which took the male championship. This lamb is out of a dam by Tophill Union Jack.

Then in the ewe lambs PFD1802456, a Procters Abracadabra daughter out of a dam by Glenside Whiskey Galore, stood third in her class.

And taking fifth in the gimmers was PFD1701660, a Teiglum Young Gun daughter.
